Ne'ema Bowen
"The "Warm Heart of Africa" (before Madonna discovered it) is where I was born and raised until I was 19. I came to Keele University to study law and business and went to Oxford for my postgraduate diploma, but came back to the area, where the friendliness of the locals reminded me of the warmth of Malawians.
I trained at Hacking Ashton and stayed for a further two years after qualification. However, the big city lights of Birmingham beckoned and I worked there specialising in both contentious and non-contentious construction law.
My heart still attached to the "family" at Hacking Ashton, I returned in June 2009.
I have a beautiful daughter and I enjoy spending my "non-working time" with her. I used to have lots of sporting hobbies, but now I spend more time thinking about them rather than doing them. However growing my own vegetables in the summer (I am a fair weather gardener) and the occasional walk in the Lakes keeps me sane."
