I gained my degree in planning from Manchester University in 1974, then worked for several local planning authorities until in 1986, I established John Rose Associates.

I have a terminal weakness for folk music and mountaineering (hence I sport a rather impressive beard) and live with my wife in - remarkably mountain free -North Cheshire.
